Stephanie's Blog Top 5 survey panels (February 2012)

February was also a good month for me for surveys, like January. I earned more money than I thought I would, that mainly because I was invited to a few Invoke online focus groups and online discussion boards. I did well with Survey Spot (only due to an Invoke), Global Test market, valued opinions, SurveyHead and E-Poll (new to my top five list) this month.

Invoke I took part in the focus group and was paid $ 30.00 through Survey Spot, which was a surprise. I haven't earned a lot completely with Survey Spot in the past couple of months, so this was very beautiful. I've also invited to a panel discussion Communispace and took part in a $ 50.00 one-day discussion board on electronics with another survey panel that I belong to named permission research.

For Product testing I did pretty well too. I received lotion, shaving cream, razors, crackers, frozen dinners, cat litter, make-up and cleanser of different survey panels (including Synovate global market Test and opinion outpost).

Rankings are mainly based on what I earned for the month of every survey company, as well as the number of survey invites.

Here are my current top earners for February:

Survey Spot Total earned since joining: $ 645.00Total earned in February: $ 30.00Last payment requested: $ 30.00 PayPal on February 29, 2012Joined: August 20, 2008

I normally do not even bother with Survey Spot more (their surveys are hard to qualify for, they don't pay enough per survey and technical problems are rampant), but I qualify for an online focus group Invoke this month. The Invoke paid $ 30.00 and I got the money in my account a few weeks later. I immediately paid for $ 30.00 PayPal, which arrived in my account immediately. I love survey companies that send payment instantly. That is the only thing that I really like about Survey Spot.

Through the surveys I normally just a few times a week to see if I can find a Invoke (I do the same with opinion outpost and Toluna). Most of the other surveys that I tried to take or disqualified me or booted me at the end because of a technical issue. I found at least one Invoke, though! They are becoming very hard to find nowadays.

World Market Test Total earned since joining: $ 450.00Total earned in February: $ 20.00Last payment requested: $ 50.00 check box on February 29, 2012Joined: September 21, 2008

February was another pretty good month for me with global Test market. I received a lot of surveys and also managed to finally back to cash a check for $ 50.00. I also received a few Product testing, including especially personal care products.

Valuable advice Total earned since joining: $ 470.00Total earned in February: $ 18.00Last payment requested: two $ 20.00 Amazon.com gift cards on January 10, 2012Joined: 5 September 2008

In February, I received a lot of surveys like January of valuable advice. I competed a lot of surveys and a couple of $ 2.00 $ 4.00 surveys. Qualifying was a bit more difficult that this month, however, especially since many of the surveys had full quota by the time I have with them. I'll be cashing in with them again in March, once my remaining rewards be authenticated.

SurveyHead Total earned since joining: $ 715.00Total earned in February: $ 16.00Last payment requested: $ 25.00 PayPal on 28 February, 2012Joined: August 15, 2008

I decided to try my hand at SurveyHead this month. I think I did pretty well, considering I don't have a ton of time to invest in them. Qualification for surveys is hit or miss with them most of the time. I try to concentrate on the surveys that pay the most for the smallest amount of time invested. There were some surveys that paid $ 1.00 for a few minutes, so that was pretty awesome. I wish that those were offered more frequently. I also managed to cash out again, who took a few weeks to process the payment. I only wish it didn't take so long for survey rewards are audited. It seems like some survey rewards "pending" status for weeks or even months sometimes remain.

E-Poll Total earned since joining: $ 250.00Total earned in February: $ 10.00Last payment requested: $ 30.00 PayPal on February 7, 2012Joined: August 5, 2009

I have been a member of E-Poll for a few years now and have done pretty well with them. I tend to not be a consistent amount of surveys of them each month, however. A few months can be pretty dead. In January and February, I received a number of surveys of them. What I like about them is that I qualify for the majority of the surveys they send me and they can take pretty fun to. Many involve watching full tv programs that haven't even aired yet and your opinion on them after watching the video Express. Although they can sometimes quite time consuming, they are generally more fun than other surveys from other survey panels. They also offer PayPal, which I really like. I have paid out with them a few times last year and once this year in February.

SurveySpot Review by LapisLee

Survey Spot is the absolute best survey site I have found since I started taking paid online surveys in January 2008. They rank 1st with $422.80 earned and $419.80 received. SurveySpot has a very straightforward cash system, where they send emails that clearly state how much you will earn and how long it will take to complete the survey. The minimum cash out threshold is $5 and I have cashed out 18 times since March 2008. It takes four to six weeks for the checks to arrive and they do not currently have PayPal, although they made an announcement in April 2009 that they would be getting PayPal soon.

As with other sites it is very important to keep your profiles up to date and to click on emails as soon as possible from SurveySpot. Surveys range in value from $1 to $10 and last from a single minute up to 30 minutes depending on the cash value. Upon the successful completion of each survey, you will also receive an entry into the $25,000 Grand Prize sweepstakes and even if you are disqualified you have a chance to play the Instant Win game, either the slot machine or scratch off ticket, and earn either five, 25 or 100 sweepstake entries into their various Instant Win sweepstakes as follows:

Thirty (30) First Prizes (10 per month): $250 Electronics Prize.
Thirty (30) Second Prizes (10 per month): $250 Video Prize.
Ninety (90) Third Prizes (30 per month): $100 Music Prize.
One hundred twenty (120) Fourth Prizes (40 per month): $100 Electronics Prize.
Ninety (90) Fifth Prizes (30 per month): $100 Video Prize.
Three hundred (300) Sixth Prizes (100 per month): $50 Electronics Prize.
One hundred fifty (150) Seventh Prizes (50 per month): $50 Music Prize.
One hundred fifty (150) Eighth Prizes (50 per month): $50 Video Prize.
Total ARV of all prizes: $100,000.

Survey Spot is known for sending many survey invitations for sweepstakes entries and my recommendation is that after you have established your credibility with SurveySpot over a few months and cashed out at least once, you no longer need to take surveys just for a sweepstakes entry; however, a few of these surveys will turn out to be product tests, invitations to lucrative Invoke Interactive panels or forums that pay monthly incentives for posting and completing various activities, so ignore these sweepstakes-only surveys at your own risk. The winner’s list is posted here: http://www.surveyspot.com/rewards.shtml .
Currently, SurveySpot is also running their immensely popular Spot the Winner football contest which has a weekly prize of $50, a monthly prize of $150 and an end-of-the-season prize of $500 to the person that picks the most winners of the weekly NFL football games. I am currently ranked 862nd in this contest.

SurveySpot, like most other legitimate survey sites, has a very strict privacy policy and will not sell, distribute or make available in any form personally identifiable information of any member of the site without their expressed permission as outlined in their privacy policy. In the event of technical or other problems you can contact SurveySpot via their Contact Us page on the main website at http://www.surveyspot.com/svy/survey/ContactMemberServices.jsp . The SurveySpot FAQs can be found here: http://www.surveyspot.com/FAQ.shtml and their Member News is located here: http://www.surveyspot.com/new.shtml .

LapisLee’s Top 25 Paid Survey Panels List (January 2010)

I have earned $3301.54 in 23 months from 25 paid survey sites, which is $143.55 per month. The average survey site earned $5.74 per month. My actual receipts are $3048.67, which is $132.55 per month

This being the start of a new year I would like to comment on a few gripes I have from last year. My number one survey site, SurveySpot, has switched over to points and there have been great difficulties in crediting surveys during the transition. I have faith that they will work out the kinks soon. They will now be paying via PayPal and are also awarding 50 points for every survey completed during the month of January.

GlobalTestMarket is still my number two best site, but they are now offering surveys for sweepstakes, which are simply not worth my time. Surveyhead continues to be a steady earner, but I am finding that the only thing that takes them longer than crediting surveys is waiting for them to pay you when you cash-out. I requested $26.90 on December 3, 2009.

Greenfield Online is now part of Toluna and it remains to be seen whether this is good or bad; although, few will miss the many problems that Greenfield Online had with crediting surveys or the many surveys for sweepstakes. A sign of the times is that I received a Greenfield Online survey from Toluna that paid $0.33 just today!

Some say that MySurvey has slowed down in the past few months, but I find them very steady, enjoy their test products and currently await another check for $40. Mindfield has greatly disappointed me this year because I have not been credited with $11 from nine surveys that I completed between August 21 and December 7. Another disappointment has been Lightspeed and Elite Opinion, the business survey site of Lightspeed, which have failed to pay me after repeated inquiries. Finally, I have lost all faith in Datatelligence after they reneged on their original offer of $10 for the chocolate study and sent me a very cheap MP3 docking station/alarm clock that was allegedly worth $20. That was regifted to my elderly father for Christmas.

How Much Is a Survey Panel Point Worth?

Here is a short guide to the point values of various survey sites that I like. While most people prefer survey sites that give you a dollar value for their surveys, such as Surveyhead, Valued Opinions, Pinecone Research, Survey Savvy, Socratic Forum, Consumer Research (Gongos), Mindfield Online, ACOP, Netverdix, Clear Voice, Brand Institute and others, the sad reality is that many survey sites are now moving towards a points system.

The most recent example of this would be SurveySpot; however, SurveySpot employs a straightforward exchange rate of one point equals one penny and many others have much more inflated point values, as the table below illustrates. MySurvey and HCD also value points at one cent each. Other point systems that are easy for me to remember include; Global Test Market, where points equal 5 cents each, and Opinion Outpost, where points equal 10 cents each.

The least valuable points of all belong to Toluna and their new system that values points at $0.000333 cents each (about 1/30 of a cent!) which many people dislike. The most important thing to remember is that not all points are created equal. Make certain you know precisely how much a survey is worth in dollar terms before you waste an entire afternoon discussing why you love your wireless phone company so much for 900 points on Toluna (30 cents) or 125 points on MyView (9 cents).

Buzz Sponge 4000 = $10 Amazon gift card (0.0025 cent each)
Daily Survey Panel 200 = $1 PayPal (0.05 cent each)
Datatelligence 1293 = $10 Amazon gift card (0.00773 cents each)
Elite Opinion 1150 = $10 PayPal (0.0087 cents each)
Epoll 3500 = $5 PayPal ($0.00143 cents each)
Global Opinion Panel 5000 = $5 PayPal (0.001 cent each)
Global Test Market 1000 Market points = $50 check (5 cents each)
HCD 1000 = $10 check (1 cent each)
Lightspeed 575 = $5 PayPal (0.0087 cents each)
MySurvey.com 1000 Reward points = $10 check (1 cent each)
MyView 35000 = $25 pre-paid VISA debit card ($0.000714 cents each)
OpinionOutpost 50 Opinion points = $5 check (10 cents each)
Survey Exchange 4500 = $5 Reward Choice gift cards (0.00111 cents each)
SurveySpot 1000 = $10 PayPal (1 cent each)
Toluna 60000 = $50 ($0.000333 cents each)
Viewpoint 375 = $10 check ($0.0267 cents each)

Here is a listing of point values from least valuable to most valuable:

Toluna ($0.000333 cents each)
MyView ($0.000714 cents each)
Global Opinion Panel ($0.001 cent each)
Survey Exchange (0.00111 cents each)
Epoll ($0.00143 cents each)
Buzz Sponge (0.0025 cent each)
Datatelligence (0.00773 cents each)
Lightspeed (0.0087 cents each)
Elite Opinion (0.0087 cents each)
SurveySpot (1 cent each)
MySurvey.com (1 cent each)
HCD (1 cent each)
Viewpoint ($0.0267 cents each)
Daily Survey Panel (5 cents each)
Global Test Market (5 cents each)
OpinionOutpost (10 cents each)

LapisLee’s Top 25 Paid Survey Panels List (December 2009)

I have earned $3224.54 in 22 months from 25 survey sites, which is $145.57 per month. The average survey site earned $5.86 per month. My actual receipts are $2846.67, which is $129.39 per month.

Surveyhead continues to make great strides and could possibly overtake Valued Opinions, the number one spot for earning Amazon gift certificates, in the very near future. Greenfield has been acquired by Toluna, who also recently acquired Your2Cents, and it remains to be seen what will happen with them. I have pretty much given up on Daily Survey Panel due to time constraints and the fact that Surveyhead is just much easier to interact with, tracks earnings for you and has virtually the same surveys. We also see MySurvey and Pinecone Research slowly but surely emerging from the middle of the pack to higher positions of prominence.

The point that I would like to make this month is that my top five survey sites account for 47% and my top ten survey sites account for 65% of my total earnings over the past 22 months, so many of these survey sites are like insurance for when my top sites earn more slowly; however, you just never know when a slower-earning site might move up to the top of the pack and become a top ten site unless you continue taking the surveys and carefully track your earnings. I think it’s clear that no one needs to be a member of hundreds, or even dozens, of different sites to earn a decent monthly income that can pay for your internet connection, your cell phone and, maybe, even your cable TV!

LapisLee’s Top 25 Paid Survey Panels List (November 2009)

by LapisLee on November 14, 2009

Guest Author Lapis Lee’s Top 25 Paid Survey Sites Introduction

I have earned $2901.42 in 21 months from 25 survey sites, which is $138.16 per month. The average survey site earned $5.53 per month. My actual receipts are $2745.57, which is $130.74 per month.

Surveyhead continues to make great strides and $30 was just approved and should be in my PayPal account sometime this week. Greenfield remains stagnant since I am disqualified for virtually every paid online survey from them. I have not had as much time for the Daily Survey Panel, because I prefer the Surveyhead Dashboard set-up. It’s more interactive and removes surveys as soon as you complete them or are disqualified.

Consumer Research jumped into the pack at #9 after they sent me a free webcam and I completed a $100 panel discussion (live on webcam) for $100. I am hoping that I get lots more of these. This also illustrates how much one interactive forum/survey or contest win can change your earnings. Goodbye GARB, for now, but thanks for the underwear and socks!

Datatelligence has really slacked in their promise to send me a check for $20 for their Chocolate Study, but at least they have kept me updated on the problem and are now sending me $30 instead. Ho hum to all of the others except for Global Opinion Panel that sent me ten T-shirts to test. Thanks!

Paid Surveys: Minimize Efforts, Maximize Earnings

Many would say that in order to earn a decent amount of money taking paid online surveys that you have to ‘treat it like a real job’. I would agree, except that I treat it like a real job that can potentially earn you only about $200 per month; therefore, I am only willing to spend a few hours per day taking surveys and I rarely take any surveys on the weekends. I will describe a few of the techniques that I use to earn a steady income of $200 per month while maintaining the possibility of winning great prizes, such as a free Apple Macbook, Apple iPod Touch and a $50 contest win, all of which have happened for me over the past year or so.

I have an established routine for taking online surveys for money, which I prefer to begin as soon as I have read the local newspaper and drank my first cup of coffee. I carefully look through my Gmail Inbox and eliminate superfluous emails, like Facebook comments and spam that has escaped the filter. If you have set up a separate email account just for surveys, then this task will be quicker and easier.

Secondly, I go through all surveys and look for the highest paying dollar amounts ($2 to $20) and make certain that I click on these first and attempt to qualify. The higher the dollar amount in the header of the email, the more quickly the survey will fill up. After the higher paying surveys have been completed, I take the rest, including surveys for sweepstakes depending on how much time the first task took. If I have spent more than a couple hours on higher paying surveys, I will delete surveys for sweepstakes entries and any emails from paid-to-click sites, which pay $0.02 each and offer occasional $0.50 surveys. I usually take a lunch break in the middle of the afternoon before I go back and finish up with the daily surveys, which only pay $0.50 to $1.05 and many of which will have been completed for higher amounts earlier in the day.

The next thing that I will discuss is whether or not to take surveys for just a sweepstakes entry. The short answer is: ‘Yes’. When you are first beginning to take paid online surveys with established companies such as Global Test Market, SurveySpot or Greenfield Online, it is essential that you take every single survey in order to let them know that you are serious, consistent and dedicated to giving your honest opinion. For the first six months, I worked six to eight hours a day taking surveys until I realized that most surveys for sweepstakes are a waste of time; however, you must develop a feel for surveys that may later turn out to be Invoke Interactives ($25 to $200), panel forums ($10-20 per month in cash or Amazon gift certificates) and product tests, because many of these will not offer a cash incentive upfront. The best way to qualify for these lucrative incentives is to take some surveys for sweepstake entries with the companies that are best known for offering them. Look for surveys that are either very short (three to 10 minutes) or very long (60 to 90 minutes) as a sign that something better may be in store.

The final thing that I will note is that many people will not earn $200 per month and most will earn less depending on their particular demographics; therefore you need to keep in mind that your sanity is worth more than the $200 per month. Plus, it’s possible that you will win a sweepstakes, but it’s not likely. I was thrilled and pleasantly surprised to win an Apple Macbook and Apple iPod Touch from a Capitol One forum that also paid me $20 a month in Amazon gift certificates for eight months, but these opportunities are few and far between and you will only receive them if you look daily, consistently and for many months. I have been taking paid online surveys for over 22 months and my earnings in cash, Amazon gift certificates, free products and contest wins are way over $5000 and that isn’t chump change!

GlobalTestMarket Review by LapisLee

GlobalTestMarket

GlobalTestMarket is the second best survey site I have found since I started taking paid online surveys in January 2008. They rank 2nd with $356 earned and $305 received. GTM has a very straightforward points system where 1000 MarketPoints equals $50 (5 cents per point) and it doesn’t take long to cash out either. The minimum cash out threshold is 1000 points ($50) and I have cashed out seven times in the past 20 months. It takes about four to six weeks for the checks to arrive and they do not have PayPal.

As with other legitimate sites it is very important to keep your profiles up to date and to click on emails as soon as possible from GTM. Surveys range in value from 5 to 100 points and last about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the point value. You receive 5 points just for attempting a survey, even if you are disqualified. Upon your successful completion of the survey, you also receive three sweepstakes entries and if you are disqualified, you receive one sweepstakes entry. Three monthly prize winners receive a check for $5000 and daily prize winners (one prize winner per day) receive a check for $300. GTM also occasionally sends survey invitations for sweepstakes entries that are so brief and painless that I usually do them all since GTM has been so good for me over the past 20 months. The winner’s list is posted here: http://www.globaltestmarket.com/sweepstakeswinners.php .

Global Test Market, like most other legitimate survey sites, has a very strict privacy policy and will not sell, distribute or make available in any form personally identifiable information of any member of the site without their expressed permission as outlined in their privacy policy. In the event of technical or other problems you can contact Global Test Market via their Contact Us page on the main website at http://www.globaltestmarket.com/contact.php .
